Quick Start

The shortest path from a fresh account to your first Gate-reviewed change

1. Create a workspace and project

Sign in to the Stil Console, create a workspace if you do not have one yet, then create a project from the dashboard. Use the project as the home for one design system or one product surface. You do not need to hand-edit the slug; Stil generates the internal route automatically.

2. Install the Figma Plugin and connect your file

Install the Stil Gate plugin from Figma Community at https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1613509273126800386. Open the same design system file your team uses, then connect that file to your Stil project in the project settings. Once linked, Stil can resolve tokens, components, and scans against the correct project.

3. Connect GitHub before you push

In project settings, connect the GitHub repository and branch that should receive design-system updates. Stil uses this connection to generate PRs and lane configuration. If you only browse docs or inspect tokens, GitHub can wait. If you want a real push flow, connect GitHub first.

4. Run your first scan from Figma

Open the plugin inside Figma, choose the scope you want to scan, and run Scan. The Gate Engine classifies what changed into safe, review, or blocked. Use this first run to verify that the project mapping, token detection, and file connection all line up with your expectations.

5. Review and push with context

Review the classification cards in the Console, especially anything labeled review or blocked. Once the changes look right, push them to GitHub. Stil creates a PR with lane-by-lane detail and impact counts so engineering can review the same context design saw.
